Plant Science Research (formerly Journal of Orissa Botanical Society), the official journal of the Orissa Botanical Society, is being regularly published for the last 40 years since its inception in 1989. Several distinguished Professors, scientists, academicians and researchers of Odisha and other states have preferred to get their research findings published in this journal and added value to it in terms of its scientific contents, originality; and enhanced its research standing as a scientific journal. Since inception, the journal was being published in traditional printing machines and hard copies of reprints were being sent to the contributors.

From the year 2014, the style, format and layout of the journal and quality of printing papers used have improved substantially to match with any such journal of international repute and PDFs of the reprints are being sent to the authors. The PDF copies of all papers published in Vol. 36, 2014, Vol. 37, 2015, Vol. 38, 2016 and Vol. 39, 2017 are now available and hence provided in the journal website for use by interested researchers of biology.
